‘Scout’ husband and wife duo, Libby and Sean Flynn, were born performers who have lived and breathed music their whole lives. After meeting at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music over 15 years ago, Libby studying classical piano, Sean studying jazz and classical guitar, they joined forces to create music that digs deep into their musical roots to delight audiences with surprising arrangements on classic jazz standards, interspersed with modern twists and underground soul numbers. Although trained as a classical pianist, Libby has been performing vocally on stage since she was 4 years old and grew up listening to the sounds of Ella Fitzgerald, Liza Minelli, Nat King Cole, Cleo Lane and the Rat Pack. Using these influences as a springboard, Libby has developed a sound and style uniquely her own; a natural storyteller through her music, Libby creates an atmosphere that explores the extremes in her arrangements. Award-winning guitarist, Sean 'Sunny Boy' Flynn, has toured and played with some of Australia's finest musicians and was awarded a scholarship to study at the London School of Music. His unique expertise as both a professional musician across contrasting genres of classical and jazz music arms him with an enviable technique and individual sound, creating some incredibly special moments for his listeners. Following a two year stint in Japan where they held residencies in multiple jazz clubs, Libby and Sean returned to the Brisbane jazz circuit armed with new repertoire and a constantly evolving sensibility, taking their audiences on a musical journey.
